CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS

  • Every student is under an obligation to obey the rules of the college and to respect and uphold its discipline.
  • Students are advised to speak in English, without intimidation in order to acquire proficiency in the language.
  • It is mandatory for the students and faculty to wear the identity card from entry to exit of the campus and based on the demand of the Authorities, identity cards have to be surrendered.
  • Loitering in the corridors of the college while the classes are in progress is strictly not allowed.
  • Punctuality is strictly maintained among students.
  • Participation of students in undesirable public activities, Parties, Communal and religious politics are strictly instructed to abstain.
  • Organizing Meeting and processions without permission from Principal is impermissible within the Campus.
  • Students are directed to look up the notice board every day.
  • Ragging is strictly banned in the college. Anyone found involved in ragging will be dismissed from the college as per the UGC norms.
  • Writing or scribbling on the walls, floors, benches, desks, furniture or any part of the college buildings is strictly prohibited. Damage caused to college property will be charged from the students concerned.
  • Students’ vehicles are permitted only in designated parking areas.
  • Students are expected to wear comfortable and modest attire, in keeping with the dignity and decorum of the college. T-Shirts, sleeveless tops and miniskirts are not permitted.
  • The campus is under CCTV surveillance and the movements of students are monitored.
  • Students are expected to take responsibility for their own belongings.

The principal is authorized to add, amend or modify these rules. All matters not covered by the above rules will rest at the discretion of the principal.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TEACHING STAFF

  • Devotion to duty and dedication to chosen assignment are expected from all teachers.
  • Teachers are expected to mark attendance before 9.25 am and permitted to leave by 4.00 pm.
  • Mentoring is the part of teaching. All teachers have to participate in this endeavor.
  • Continuous internal assessment has components like tests, assignments, seminars, attendance and the like. Whatever composition suggested by the autonomous mechanism is to be adhered by the teachers.
  • Apart from teaching, the college administration may assign responsibilities in extension/sports/ academic and administrative committees. Teachers are expected to extend willing participation in undertaking those responsibilities.
  • Hostel is a part of the college. Those teachers staying in the hostel have to assume the role of managing hostel affairs, if necessary.
  • Teachers are eligible to avail casual leave as per Government norms. But teachers are not expected to avail leave as a matter of right. Teachers have the code that whenever they apply leave the department work should not suffer.
  • Prior permission to avail leave is essential. Only on exceptional circumstances, leave applications can be sent on the day of leave.
  • Teachers have to cooperate with the Head of the Department to take additional hours of class work to manage the classes of those teachers on leave.
  • Teachers have to handle the hours of class work completely. Going to the class late and dispersing the classes before the stipulated time are to be avoided.
  • Healthy competition among teachers is expected. But that should not sow the seeds for jealousy and cheap popularity.
  • Those teachers acquired research qualifications have to motivate others to pursue research by guiding them.
  • Organizing seminars, workshops, conferences and symposia at the department/college level is the joint responsibility of teachers.
  • The college is expecting teachers to participate and present papers in national/International seminars/workshops/conferences.
  • Prior permission from the Principal is the prerequisite to accept outside assignments.
  • Teachers’ Financial dealing with students is interdicted.
  • Teachers are encouraged to undertake (major, minor and corporate funded) research projects.
  • Teachers’ participation in demonstrations/strikes either inside or outside the campus is not permitted.
  • Teachers have to contribute their might to make the activities of departmental associations vibrant.
  • Teachers have to initiate MoUs with industrial ventures to secure internships, placements and faculty support.
  • The institution treats teachers as ambassadors to enhance its goodwill in the society.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR SUPPORTING STAFF

The institute has put forward its code of conduct for the support staff along with the following lines:

  • They should be punctual as their prior presence is required daily for the commencement and smooth functioning of college activities.
  • They should also be responsible for the proper use and maintenance of college equipment and furniture.
  • The support staff often has access to confidential information regarding examination matters and other matters relating to other staff, through official records. It is expected that they respect the confidentiality of such matters.
  • They should perform their duties with honesty and integrity.
  • The support staff should show no discrimination on basis of caste or religion.
  • Each and every member of the support/office staff should come well dressed in the proper uniform assigned to him/her.
  • The support/office staff should strictly regulate his/her duties which has been officially assigned and not to undertake any other job within the stipulated working hours.
  • Punctuality and discipline is expected from them as like that of teachers and students.
  • It is expected that they behave in a helpful, friendly, and patient manner towards the students.
