Greetings from the Principal, P.K.R. Arts College for Women (PKR).
Mahatma Gandhi said, “By Education I mean an all round drawing of the best in child and man in body, mind and spirit”. With this in mind PKR, a premier educational institution affiliated to the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and situated in Gobichettipalayam has emerged as a leading place for women in academics, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Established in 1994 by late Shri P.R.Natarajan, the institution has come a long way since its early years. Today, the PKR community has produced several outstanding students from the different departments who have been placed in different institutions and companies.
Even during challenging times like the pandemic, PKR emerged as a beacon of excellence adapting well to the new conditions of online teaching. The institution seeks to actively combat the challenges brought about by the online education. Its rich and culturally vibrant community works in myriad ways to ensure equal access to education, be it online or offline.
PKR is a truly global community that partakes in multiple outreach programmes, both nationally and internationally where the students are given the opportunity to transform their lives and the world around them. We have ICT-enabled classrooms, state-of-the-art seminar halls, open space and common rooms.
Our faculty members get the best to update themselves consistently and our teaching-learning process is constantly evolving and with the changing times, we aspire and successfully create global leaders. The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life to be in harmony with all existence.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
I’m an Environmental Biologist, the main goals of which are interpreting plankton biodiversity of fresh water ecosystem and detecting the events that produced in pollution biology. My research interests include species diversity of aquatic animals in fresh water deterioration / discovery of the eutrophication of wetlands in Coimbatore and the plant animal interactions from 2003 onwards, traditional way of purification of potable water by phytoremediation. Much of this work focuses on water purification of wetlands. I have developed a water bottle which is handy and portable which has the changeable filtration technology. As I have the interest in designing, created and generated more than thousand Bio-designs using the butterfly wing patterns and fish scale patterns which are patented, commercialized and application oriented.
